What are my rights?

You Have Rights - That's Important!

As a child, you have rights. This means you are important and have a say!

For example: You have the right to privacy.

This means:

Your body belongs to you. No one is allowed to touch, hug, or kiss you if you don't want them to. You can say "No" - even to adults or other children. Your belongings, your room, or your diary are also private. No one is allowed to look into them without asking you first.

If someone does something you don't like, you can seek help - from your parents, educators, or friends.

Your rights make you strong and help you feel safe!

📣 My Voice, My Choice

You have a very important right: the right to decide what happens to your body. If something doesn't feel right or you don't want something, you can always make it clear that you don't want it. Your gut feeling will help guide you!

📋 Task: Imagine something feels uncomfortable because someone is doing something you don't like. What can you say or do to clearly show that you don't want it? Write down three different ways.

👥 Partner Task: Think of two situations where it's especially important to listen to your gut feeling and clearly express a decision.

🚗🐱 Stranger Danger: Alina and the Kittens 🐱🚗

One sunny afternoon, Alina was playing in the park. She loved the swings and the merry-go-round. Suddenly, a stranger walked up to her. He was wearing a blue hat and had a big smile. The stranger said, "Hello, Alina! Do you want to see some cute kittens? They are in my car right over there!" He pointed to a car parked near the playground.

Alina loved kittens. She thought they were adorable and loved their fluffy fur and tiny paws. But she remembered what her teacher had told her about strangers. Her teacher said, "Never get into a stranger's car, even if they offer you something nice."

Alina felt a little bit scared. She knew she had to be smart and safe. So, she said, "No, thank you," and quickly ran back to her mom, who was sitting on a bench nearby. Alina's mom gave her a big hug and said she was proud of her for being brave and making the right choice.

In the end, Alina learned that it's important to be careful and not trust strangers, even if they say they have cute kittens. Safety is always the most important thing!
