London is the capital city of England and the United Kingdom. It is one of the largest cities in the world with a population of about 9 million people. The city is very old, and it started as a small Roman town called Londinium almost 2,000 years ago.

London is a mix of old and new. You can see ancient buildings like the Tower of London and modern skyscrapers like The Shard. The city is known for its rich culture. There are many theaters, museums, and famous landmarks like Big Ben and Buckingham Palace. You can even visit the British Museum to see artifacts from all over the world.

Geographically, London is located in the southeastern part of England, along the River Thames. The city covers an area of about 1,572 square kilometers, making it quite big. It's close to other major cities like Birmingham and Manchester, which you can easily reach by train.
