Die Lernenden sollen ein tiefes Verständnis für die Gefühlswelt und Sichtweise von Menschen mit Demenz entwickeln. Das übergeordnete Ziel ist es, ihnen die Fähigkeit zu vermitteln, empathisch auf die emotionalen und kognitiven Veränderungen der Betroffenen zu reagieren, herausforderndes Verhalten als Ausdruck unerfüllter Bedürfnisse zu interpretieren und deeskalierende Kommunikationsstrategien anzuwenden.
Inhalte und Methoden:
Das Arbeitsblatt beginnt mit einem Brainstorming über die Assoziationen mit Demenzerkrankungen. Ein Lesetext erklärt die kognitiven und emotionalen Veränderungen bei Demenz, die Bedeutung von Emotionen als Kommunikationsmittel und das Phänomen der "verlorenen Gegenwart". Anschließend wird in einer Gruppenübung anhand mehrerer Fallbeispiele geübt, die hinter dem Verhalten liegenden Emotionen zu verstehen. Weitere Fallbeispiele, die Aggression thematisieren, dienen zur Erarbeitung von deeskalierenden Maßnahmen. Die Lernenden sollen ihre Überlegungen aufschreiben und im Plenum diskutieren. Methoden umfassen Brainstorming, Textanalyse, Multiple-Choice-Fragen, Gruppenarbeit mit Fallbeispielen und Diskussion.
